| Objectives:
Eligibility: Master and undergraduate level students/researchers in Pakistani universities/Private Institutions in the relevant fields. Priority will be given to the researchers who intend to use GIS / Remote Sensing and other computer aided techniques for analysis. Research Grants: "Research Initiatives for GIS Applications in Planning and Development" will be a grant as partially support to the cost of research work and data collection etc. The excellent research work may also be offered for publication upon completion. Amount of research grant is flexible (upto Rs. 20000 per researcher) depending upon the proposed research work and its intended outcomes. Research Grants will be awarded on annual GIS Conference of PSGIS every year. Target Group: Bachelor and Masters Students of all Engineering Universities in Pakistan. International Islamic University Islamabad, National University of Science and Technology (NUST), FAST, LUMS, Space Science Department, University of the Punjab, Quaid e Azam University, Allah Iqbal Open University, University of Peshawar, University of Karachi and other research and academic institutions from Pakistan. Research Themes: GIS applications to Educational Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Facility Management, Health Impact Assessment, Environmental and Natural Resource Management, Urban Development, Environmental Governance, community and social development, and allied topics.
